Incident Overview
During a flight, the pilot made one pass across a field and began a turn back toward the field. At that point, the engine power dropped to idle. The pilot attempted to land on a nearby highway. However, due to a loss of airspeed, the decision was made to land straight ahead in a field of small pine trees.
