Landing Attempt
On approach to runway 28, the wind was from 340 degrees at 8 knots with gusts to 12 knots. The pilot performed a slip to lose altitude during final approach. The airplane touched down 600–700 feet down the runway at an indicated airspeed of 42–44 knots. After touchdown, the airplane became airborne again, the right wing rose, and the airplane drifted left. The pilot applied right aileron and left rudder to maintain the runway centerline, added slight power, and released a small amount of back pressure on the yoke. The airplane touched down again on the main landing gear approximately 400 feet beyond the first touchdown point. It rolled for about 50–100 feet before nosing over.
