Overview
An aircraft experienced a sudden loss of engine power while in cruise flight at an altitude of 4,500 feet mean sea level. The propeller windmilled as the engine ceased producing power. The pilot attempted to restore engine operation using cockpit controls but was unsuccessful.
Forced Landing
Faced with a non-functioning engine, the pilot selected a pasture for an off-airport landing. During the approach, the aircraft struck treetops before touching down in tall weeds. After initial ground contact, the aircraft rolled over rough, uneven terrain and ultimately collided with a barbed-wire fence, which brought it to a stop.
Damage
