During a training flight, a helicopter experienced an engine failure after the student was instructed to activate carburetor heat. The instructor performed an autorotation landing to a golf course, damaging the helicopter. Post-accident inspection found no preaccident anomalies.

Introduction

A helicopter conducting training operations experienced an engine failure while in a left-handed traffic pattern. Flight Sequence
