What happened
Shortly after departing from the airport, the airplane was observed by witnesses maintaining a nose-up climbing attitude. During this initial climb phase, the aircraft began to execute a slight turn to the left. A witness who observed the event reported hearing no unusual loud noises emanating from the engine prior to the incident.
During the maneuver, the airplane lost airspeed and entered a stall condition. The aircraft subsequently impacted an open field located approximately 0.2 nautical miles west-southwest of the departure end of runway 31. There were no reports of mechanical issues or abnormal sounds preceding the loss of control.
The investigation
Following the accident, investigators conducted a thorough examination of the wreckage and remaining components. The inspection focused on critical systems to determine if any mechanical failures contributed to the event. Examination of the flight controls revealed no evidence of preimpact failure or malfunction. Similarly, the engine was inspected and showed no signs of preimpact failure or malfunction that would have caused the loss of power or control.
