Incident Overview
On December 23, 2005, a British Aerospace Jetstream 3200, registered in Australia as VH-OAE, experienced a loss of power from its right-hand engine during cruise flight near Adelaide, Australia. The engine, a Honeywell TPE331-12UHR-702H turbopropeller, shut down after the pilots observed fluctuating torque indications.
Flight Details and Engine Shutdown
The aircraft was in cruise when the torque indications for the right engine began to fluctuate. Shortly thereafter, the engine ceased operation. The flight crew reported these developments to authorities.
