A pilot reported an incident involving a landing attempt where the approach speed was too fast, leading to the touchdown point being beyond the optimum. The pilot stated that the aircraft had an inappropriate nose-low attitude, resulting in the nose gear, rather than the main gear, striking the runway with a thump.
Pilot Report
Following the initial hard landing, the pilot executed a go-around. The second approach was improved, with the pilot flaring and landing the airplane on the main landing gear. However, as the nose was lowered, a scraping sound was heard. After stopping the airplane, the pilot observed that the aircraft had sustained damage.
