Incident Overview
An airline passenger flight encountered moderate turbulence during its descent into the airport terminal area, resulting in a flight attendant fracturing her ankle. The incident occurred while the aircraft was descending from 36,000 feet with the seat belt sign illuminated.
Sequence of Events
Approximately at 25,000 feet, the captain made a passenger announcement and instructed the flight attendants to prepare for landing. Shortly after the announcement, the airplane experienced moderate turbulence. A flight attendant who had not yet taken her seat fell into a closet door, sustaining a fractured ankle.
Aftermath
The flight continued to land without further incident. Paramedics were called to meet the airplane at the gate to attend to the injured flight attendant.
