Incident Details
A private certificated pilot was conducting the landing phase of a cross-country personal flight under Title 14, CFR Part 91. The airplane, equipped with tundra tires, was landing on an asphalt surface runway. The pilot reported a 6-knot crosswind from the right, at an angle of about 40 degrees relative to the runway direction. During the landing roll, the airplane veered to the right, departed the runway, and collided with a ditch.
Damage
The airplane sustained structural damage to the fuselage at the right main landing gear attach point. No other damage was reported.
