Accident Overview
Approximately 40 minutes before landing, the pilot noted a reduction in manifold pressure and indicated airspeed. Despite this, the pilot elected to continue the flight to the flight-planned destination.
Approach and Landing
The pilot reported that the airplane's approach speed was slow and that power was added too late. A witness observed that the airplane seemed slow during the final approach segment and appeared to have stalled approximately 30 to 40 feet above the runway.
Runway Contact and Outcome
After contacting the runway, the airplane bounced. The pilot then applied power. Following the second contact with the runway, the airplane veered off the runway and came to rest west of the intended runway.
