Incident Overview
A pilot experienced a loss of control during an attempted go-around, resulting in the aircraft impacting terrain and sustaining substantial damage. The pilot reported that during the landing, she believed she flared the aircraft slightly too early, leading to the nose being ballooned upward by the wind. She then applied power to initiate a go-around, but the aircraft subsequently descended and struck the ground.
Witness Account
A witness, who was taxiing to the runway at the time of the accident, observed the aircraft at approximately 30 feet above ground level. According to the witness, the aircraft was wobbling severely from left to right with its nose elevated. The left wing then dipped downward, and the aircraft turned approximately 180 degrees before the left wing impacted the ground, followed by the nose striking the terrain.

The winds recorded at Butler County Regional Airport near the time of the accident were from 310 degrees at 12 knots, with gusts up to 16 knots.
