Event Description
After departing for the destination airport, the pilot entered a standard downwind traffic pattern for runway 5. On final approach, the pilot reported encountering a gust of wind. The airplane ballooned, and the stall warning horn sounded. The airplane touched down on the main landing gear and then bounced.
Pilot Report and Sequence of Events
In response to the bounce, the pilot added power in an effort to perform a go-around. However, a positive rate of climb was not achieved. The airplane touched down again on the main landing gear, bounced, and then landed once more, causing the nose landing gear to collapse. The airplane spun around, and subsequently the left main landing gear collapsed.
No further details were provided regarding the aircraft type, registration, operator, or location. The investigation did not assign a probable cause.
