Incident Overview
A pilot reported that during a crosswind landing on runway 15, which measures 2,900 feet in length and 50 feet in width with an asphalt surface, the airplane began to drift to the left after the right wheel touched down. The pilot applied right rudder to compensate, but the drift continued.
Pilot Actions
According to the pilot, he then lifted his foot off the rudder pedal and applied the toe brakes in an attempt to regain control of the airplane. At that point, the airplane ground looped.
Wind Conditions
The pilot stated that winds were from the southwest, creating a right crosswind of about 45 degrees relative to the runway. The wind speed was estimated at 5 to 7 knots.

The pilot noted that there were no failures or malfunctions associated with the airplane prior to the accident.
