Accident Overview
During an approach to runway 12, the aircraft's airspeed decreased. The pilot initiated a go-around, during which the aircraft entered a recorded stall and spin condition. A post-impact ground fire and explosion followed.
Recorded wind data from the airport indicated winds from 190 degrees at 15 knots, gusting to 22 knots. The aircraft's maximum demonstrated crosswind component was 20 knots.
Wreckage Examination
On-scene and follow-up examinations of the wreckage, along with data from the aircraft's recoverable data module, revealed no pre-impact anomalies in the airframe or engine.
Airport Remark
Subsequent to the accident, a remark was added to the airport's master record. The remark advises pilots landing on runway 12 to be alert for turbulence and possible windshear when winds are from the south.
