What happened
On February 13, 2008, at 13:58 UTC, a Boeing 737-500, registration UR-GAU, operated by Ukraine International Airlines, struck an object or surface with its right wingtip while landing at Helsinki-Vantaa aerodrome in Finland. The aircraft was carrying 32 passengers and 7 crew members. There were no injuries resulting from the event.
Damage to the aircraft was localized to the right wingtip, the leading edge slat, and the outboard flap actuator housing.
