What happened
On March 2, 2008, at 1443 UTC, a Cirrus Design Corporation SR-22, registered as PR-AIO, crashed near Jacarepagua Airport (SBJT) in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. The aircraft was departing from runway 20 under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) when the engine lost power.
Following the loss of power, the aircraft struck a building, which resulted in an explosion. The flight, operated by CISA Traitings S.A., resulted in 4 fatal injuries, involving the pilot and three passengers.
