What happened
On March 2, 2008, a Piper PA-22-135, registration N3212B, was performing a landing on runway 17 at an airport in Scribner, Nebraska. The runway dimensions were 4,200 feet by 75 feet. During the landing phase, the aircraft entered a ground loop. As a result of the maneuver, the left wing made contact with the runway, resulting in substantial damage to the aircraft. There were no injuries reported following the event. At the time of the accident, weather conditions were VMC with winds reported from 210 degrees at 9 knots.
