What happened

On April 9, 2008, at approximately 15:30 local time, a Cessna U206C, registered as OB-1266, crashed near Maria Reiche Airport (SPZA) in Nazca, Peru. The aircraft, operated by Aero Ica S.A.C., was conducting a sightseeing flight under visual meteorological conditions.

After departing from runway 07, the aircraft was airborne for roughly one minute when the pilot attempted to return to the airport. During this maneuver, the airplane descended into a power line and struck a house before ultimately impacting the terrain. The accident resulted in 5 fatalities among the French passengers and 1 minor injury to the Peruvian commercial pilot.
