What happened
On May 6, 2008, a Cessna 152, registration N68353, was being operated by a private pilot during night landing practice. While performing the maneuvers, the pilot misjudged the timing of the touchdown flare. This error caused the aircraft to strike the ground with a nose-low attitude.
There were no injuries resulting from the event. The aircraft sustained significant damage, including the buckling of the top of the aft fuselage and the breakage of both lower engine mounts. Prior to the flight, the pilot reported that the aircraft was in normal operating condition with no known anomalies.
