Private Pilot's Bounced Landing Leads to Collision with Parked Aircraft

Accident Details

The accident occurred while a private pilot was landing on runway 25. The pilot was correcting for a left crosswind during the approach. At touchdown, the airplane bounced. The pilot attempted to recover, but a second bounce occurred, after which the airplane veered sharply to the left. The airplane departed the left side of the runway and struck a parked airplane.

Damage and Conditions

The collision resulted in substantial damage to the wings and fuselage of the pilot's airplane. At the time of the accident, reported winds were from 170 degrees at 7 knots. The pilot stated that there were no preaccident mechanical anomalies with the airplane.
