What happened
On February 15, 2009, at 15:47 local time, a Bell UH-1H helicopter, registered as CC-CBW, crashed into terrain near Chanco, Chile. The aircraft, operated by Sociedad Aero Flight Service, was performing a mission to transport firefighters to assist with an active forest fire.
During the flight, the helicopter impacted a mountain. The accident resulted in 13 fatal injuries, involving the pilot and 12 passengers.
