Accident Summary
A pilot reported that following a flight involving slow-flight practice and multiple stalls, the airplane experienced a nose-over during the landing roll at the destination airport. The airplane came to rest inverted, with damage to the propeller and left wing.
Pilot Report
According to a written statement from the pilot, after departing, he practiced configuring the airplane for slow-flight and performed numerous stalls. Upon approaching the destination airport, he entered the traffic pattern on a 45-degree angle and extended his downwind leg to yield to traffic ahead. He observed the windsock indicating a light crosswind.
During the final approach, the pilot configured the airplane with a little left rudder to compensate for the wind conditions. After touchdown, while on the landing roll with the engine at idle, the airplane began to yaw to the left of the runway centerline. In response, the pilot applied full right rudder deflection and then applied the right brake. Subsequently, the airplane nosed over and came to rest inverted.
Mechanical Condition
The pilot stated that there were no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airframe or engine. He reported that during the accident sequence, the winds were light and variable with no gusts.
Damage
The accident resulted in damage to the propeller and left wing.
