What happened
On July 20, 2009, at approximately 0925 Japan standard time, a Robinson R44 helicopter, registered as JA32CT, collided with mountainous terrain. The accident occurred roughly 9 miles southeast of Tajima Airport in Tajima, Japan. The impact with the terrain caused substantial damage to the aircraft. The flight was being operated under the provisions of the Civil Aviation Regulations of Japan. There were 2 fatal injuries, as the pilot and one passenger died at the scene.
