Accident Overview
On August 7, 2009, a Bell Helicopter model 212 was destroyed when it impacted the ground in low visibility mountainous terrain. The pilot and on-board mechanic were killed in the accident. The wreckage is located near a mountain top and is not accessible.
Investigation
The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Mexico, specifically the Secretaria de Comunicaciones y Transportes (SCT) and the Direccion General de Aeronautica Civil (DGAC). Recovery and Further Steps
