Incident Overview
On October 30, 2009, a Garuda Indonesia Airlines Boeing 737-300, registered PK-GGQ, experienced the loss of the left inboard wheel and brake assembly during takeoff from Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta, Indonesia. The flight crew subsequently returned the aircraft to the airport and executed a landing on runway 07L without further incident.
Occupants and Injuries
The aircraft carried 2 pilots, 5 cabin crew members, and 49 passengers. No injuries were sustained by any occupants.
Investigation
The Indonesian National Transportation Safety Committee (NTSC) is investigating the incident. The NTSC has not yet released a probable cause for the event.
