Incident
On February 14, 2010, at 2019 coordinated universal time, a Cessna 550B, Czech registered OK-ACH, was destroyed when it impacted terrain near Reinhardtsdorf-Schöna, Germany. The accident occurred under dark night visual meteorological conditions. The captain and first officer were fatally injured. The debris field was located in a forest area, in mountainous terrain, near the Czech/German border.
Aircraft and Flight
The aircraft, owned and operated by Time Air Flight, had originated from Prague, Czech Republic, and was en route to Karlskrona, Sweden. According to German investigators, the airplane was climbing from flight level 260 to flight level 330 when radar contact was lost.
Investigation
The accident investigation is under the jurisdiction and control of the German government. The German Federal Bureau of Aircraft Accident Investigation (BFU) is responsible for the inquiry. No probable cause has been released.
