Incident Overview
On February 21, 2010, a Thomas Cook Boeing 757-200, registration G-TCBA, experienced an uncommanded fuel dump during the initial climb phase after departing from Turin International Airport (LIMF) in Torino, Italy. The aircraft was operating a scheduled passenger flight destined for Birmingham International Airport (EGBB) in Birmingham, United Kingdom.
Occupants and Damage
There were 8 crew members and 231 passengers onboard at the time of the incident. According to the investigation, no injuries were reported, and the aircraft itself was not damaged.
Investigation
The incident is being investigated by the Italian Agenzia nazionale per la sicurezza del volo (ANSV). Under the provisions of ICAO Annex 13, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has assigned an Accredited Representative to assist in the investigation, as the United States is the Country of Manufacture and Design of the airplane.
