Event Summary
According to a written statement submitted by the pilot to the Federal Aviation Administration, an airplane was struck by a gust of wind during the landing roll. The gust caused the aircraft to veer to the right, and the left wing subsequently scraped the ground.
Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the left wing, left wing rear spar, and left horizontal stabilizer.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported that the wind conditions at the time were from 350 degrees at 20 knots.
Investigation Status
The National Transportation Safety Board has attempted to obtain a completed Pilot/Operator Aircraft Accident/Incident Report Form (Form 6120.1) from the pilot. As of the date of this report, the form has not yet been received by the Safety Board.
