Accident Sequence
The pilot reported that during the takeoff roll on runway 32, the airplane began to veer to the right. He applied full left rudder to correct the deviation, but stated he "could not push back to the right." The airplane subsequently departed the left side of the runway, entering the grass. It then became airborne over a pond before impacting a taxiway.
Aircraft Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the airplane's engine firewall.
Post-Accident Examination
A Federal Aviation Administration inspector examined the airplane and found no preexisting mechanical malfunctions or failures.
Weather Conditions
At the time of the accident, reported weather at the airport included winds from 290 degrees at 9 knots.
