Accident Overview
On August 25, 2010, at approximately 1330 universal coordinated time, a Piper PA-34-200T aircraft bearing Colombian registration HK4429 crashed in rural Colombia. The aircraft was operated by Agropecuaria–Aliar S.A. and was being flown under Colombian flight regulations. The flight had originated from Bucaramanga-Palo Negro Airport (SKBG) in Bucaramanga, Colombia.
Last Contact and Wreckage
The crew last reported their position crossing the Yopal VOR (VHF omnidirectional radio range) at an altitude of 11,500 feet mean sea level. The wreckage was subsequently discovered in a field at Finca Ventanas, located in the municipality of Aguazul, Departamento Casanare, Colombia. Debris was scattered over an area with a radius of approximately 1 kilometer.
Fatalities
The Colombian pilot and the five passengers on board were killed in the accident.
