What happened

On September 2, 2010, at 1337 UTC, an Boeing 747-400 operated by Eva Airways Corp experienced a runway excursion at Tao Yuan International Airport in Taipei, Taiwan. The aircraft, registration B-16410, was performing a scheduled passenger flight arriving from Poo Dong International Airport in Shanghai, China.

Upon landing on runway 24, the aircraft veered to the left of the runway centerline. During the excursion, the left landing gear moved off the pavement and into the grass. The crew subsequently maneuvered the airplane back to the center of the runway. During the event, the number 1, 3, and 4 tires deflated, and the left inboard flap retract mechanism sustained damage. There were no injuries resulting from the incident.
