UPS Airlines Flight 6 was a scheduled international cargo service operated by UPS Airlines. On September 3, 2010, the aircraft, a Boeing 747-400F, was flying from Dubai, United Arab Emirates, to Cologne, Germany.
Accident Description
During the flight, an in-flight fire developed onboard. The fire caused the aircraft to crash. Both crew members, who were the only occupants, died in the accident.
Aftermath
This was the first fatal accident in UPS Airlines' history. The event led to a re-evaluation of safety procedures designed to protect airliners from smoke in the cockpit.
