Accident Overview
On September 7, 2010, an Alrosa Mirny Air Enterprise Tupolev Tu-154M, registration RA-85684, overran the runway at an abandoned air strip situated near the town of Izhma, Russia. The incident is under investigation by the Russian Interstate Aviation Committee (MAK).
Investigation Details
The MAK is leading the inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the overrun. In support of the investigation, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has been requested to assist with the extraction and examination of data from the aircraft's Terrain Awareness and Warning System (TAWS). This collaboration aims to retrieve relevant information that may aid in understanding the sequence of events.
