Accident Overview
On September 10, 2010, at approximately 1445 Universal Coordinated Time (UTC), a Robinson Helicopters R44 helicopter, Brazilian registration PT-YON, operated by AM Transportes Ltda ME, crashed into mountainous terrain near Itanhaem, State of São Paulo, Brazil. The helicopter was en route from Peruibe, State of São Paulo (SSMW) to the city of São Paulo (SBMT). The pilot and one passenger were killed in the accident.
Investigation
The investigation is under the jurisdiction of the Government of Brazil. The Aeronautical Accident Prevention and Investigation Center (CENIPA) is responsible for the inquiry. The information released in this report is for informational purposes only and was provided by the Government of Brazil.
