What happened
On September 18, 2010, at 1757 UTC, a Bell 206B helicopter, registration HR-AVL, struck terrain near the La Mesa Airport in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. The aircraft was performing low passes as part of a local air show at the time of the accident. The impact caused substantial damage to the helicopter. The pilot, who was the only person on board, sustained 1 fatal injury. The number of injuries to individuals on the ground remained unconfirmed. Weather conditions at the time of the accident were predominantly visual meteorological conditions (VMC).
