American Airlines Flight 802 Runway Excursion at Montreal-Trudeau (N901AN)

Incident Overview and Aircraft Details American Airlines Flight 802, a regularly scheduled service from Dallas Fort Worth International Airport (KDFW) to Montreal Pierre Elliott Trudeau International Airport (CYUL), experienced a runway excursion on November 30, 2010. The aircraft, identified as a Boeing 737-800 with registration N901AN, departed the left side of runway 24R while completing its landing roll. The aircraft came to a stop in the grass approximately 6,600 feet down the runway. No injuries were reported among the 105 passengers and 6 crew members on board. Following the event, Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting (ARFF) services were called to the scene, and passengers deplaned via airstair. The incident is under investigation by the Transportation Safety Board of Canada (TSB). The U.S. National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has appointed a U.S. Accredited Representative under the provisions of International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Annex 13, acting in its capacity as the state of manufacture of the airplane and state of the operator.
