Incident Overview
On December 21, 2010, at approximately 1300 UTC, a Bell 206B helicopter (Brazilian registration PR-HQB) was conducting an approach for landing in Aracaju, Sergipe, Brazil. During the approach, the helicopter encountered a strong wind gust, which caused it to impact the terrain. The helicopter sustained substantial damage in the accident.
Occupants and Injuries
The pilot received fatal injuries, while the passenger sustained minor injuries. The helicopter had departed from Aracaju/Aeroclube (SNAU), Sergipe, Brazil for a local flight.
