Runway Excursion During Touch-and-Go Landing

Accident Overview

The pilot reported that while conducting a touch-and-go landing on an asphalt runway oriented 090 degrees, the airplane veered to the left after adding full power for takeoff. Despite the pilot's corrective action with right rudder and throttle reduction, the airplane departed the left side of the runway and impacted the ground near a drainage ditch.

Damage and Examination

The accident caused the right main landing gear and nose landing gear to separate from the airplane, and the right wing sustained substantial damage. A subsequent examination by a Federal Aviation Administration inspector found no evidence of mechanical malfunctions, and the pilot did not report any anomalies.

The pilot noted that the weather at the time included light wind from approximately 160 degrees at 4 knots and light rain.
