What happened
On January 31, 2011, at approximately 1410 UTC, a Cessna 182P, registered as PT-KAS, was involved in an accident at Uniáo Farm in Novo Repartimento, Pará, Brazil. The aircraft had departed from Araguaína, Brazil, earlier that day.
While attempting a balked landing, the aircraft collided with a tree. The impact was followed by a post-impact fire that destroyed the airplane. The flight was operating under visual meteorological conditions (VMC) at the time of the accident. The crash resulted in 2 fatal injuries, as the pilot and passengers were killed.
