Accident Details
At approximately 1935 UTC on February 14, 2011, a Cessna 182E experienced a total loss of engine power, necessitating a forced landing in rough terrain near Palora, Provincia de Morona Santiago, Ecuador. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time, and no flight plan had been filed.
Aircraft and Operator
The aircraft, a Cessna 182E bearing Ecuadorian registration HC-CDL, was owned and operated by Fundación Amazónica. It sustained substantial damage during the landing.
Occupants and Injuries
The pilot and one of three passengers sustained minor injuries. The other two passengers were seriously injured.
