What happened
On February 18, 2011, at approximately 0415 UTC, a Bell 206-B helicopter, registered as HK-4594, crashed in the mountains near Vereda Galan, Colombia. The aircraft, operated by Heliservice LTDA, was performing a flight from Bucaramanga, Colombia, to Cesar, Colombia.
At the time of the accident, the area was experiencing instrument meteorological conditions (IMC). Following the impact in the mountainous terrain, the aircraft was consumed by a post-crash fire. The accident resulted in 4 fatal injuries, involving the Colombian certified pilot and three passengers. The helicopter was destroyed.
