Incident Overview
On March 8, 2011, at 1430 coordinated universal time, a Piper PA 46-500TP, registration N747AW, sustained substantial damage while landing at Lausanne-La Blécherette Airport (LSGL) in Lausanne, Switzerland. Visual meteorological conditions prevailed at the time of the accident. The flight originated from Dijon (LFSD), Switzerland. The two pilots and one passenger on board were not injured.
Accident Details
According to reports received by Swiss investigators, after touchdown the airplane departed the runway to the left. During the runway excursion, the front landing gear collapsed. The extent of the damage to the aircraft was classified as substantial.
