What happened
On April 8, 2011, at 1730 local time, a Bell 206B helicopter, registered as PT-YMJ, crashed into terrain in the Serra do Mar mountain range near Santo André, São Paulo, Brazil. The aircraft was flying at the 5,000-foot level when the impact occurred.
The flight departed from Porto Marina Astúrias Heliport (SICV) in Guaruja, São Paulo, and was en route to Campo de Marte Airport (SBMT) in São Paulo City. The flight was being operated under Brazilian flight regulations. The crash resulted in 2 fatal injuries for the pilot and the passenger.
