What happened
On July 4, 2011, a Piper PA-24-180, registration N5621P, arrived at its destination airport in Amarillo, Texas, under visual meteorological conditions with a visibility of 10 statute miles and winds from 130 degrees at 7 knots. During the landing phase, the pilot failed to lower the aircraft's landing gear. As a result of the gear remaining retracted, the aircraft sustained substantial damage to the lower fuselage.
There were no injuries resulting from this incident.
