Accident
On July 11, 2011, at approximately 1014 local time, a Sikorsky S76C++ helicopter with Burma registration F-H JCS collided with the sea near Kanbauk, Burma. The helicopter had just departed Kanbauk en route to an offshore oil platform. It dropped into the sea 10 meters from the Yetagon platform. The primary wreckage was located at 13 degrees 3.0 minutes north latitude and 96 degrees 52 minutes east longitude.
Aircraft and Operator
The helicopter was manufactured by Sikorsky as model S76C++ and bore Burma registration F-H JCS. HeliUnion Co. Ltd. was operating the helicopter under the provisions of the Burma Civil Aviation Regulations.
Injuries and Damage
One flight crew member and two passengers sustained fatal injuries. Two passengers sustained serious injuries. One flight crew member and three passengers sustained minor or no injuries. The helicopter sustained substantial damage.
