Accident Sequence
According to the pilot, the accident occurred during the landing phase of a local flight. As the airplane passed over the runway threshold, its main landing gear contacted high grass. This contact caused the airplane to nose over and subsequently impact the runway in an inverted position.
Aircraft Damage
The accident resulted in substantial damage to the vertical stabilizer and the top of both the left and right wings. No other damage to the aircraft was reported.
Pilot Statement
The pilot stated that there were no mechanical malfunctions or anomalies with the airplane. He further noted that the accident could have been prevented by conducting a higher approach to landing.
