What happened

On August 3, 2011, at approximately 1429 local time, a Bell 412 helicopter, registration PK-FUG, crashed into the jungle on the side of Dua Saudara Mountain in North Sulawesi, Indonesia. The aircraft, operated by Nyaman Air, was performing a charter flight from Sam Ratulanggi Airport (WAMM) to Halmahera Island.

The helicopter departed WAMM at 1426 local time, and radio contact was lost three minutes later. The wreckage was discovered roughly 25 km southeast of the departure airport. The accident resulted in 10 fatalities, consisting of the two pilots and eight passengers. The helicopter was destroyed in the impact.
