On August 15, 2011, at approximately 0850 UTC (1850 local time), a Piper PA-28-180, registration VH-POJ, collided with terrain in the vicinity of the Horsham aerodrome in Horsham, Victoria, Australia. The aircraft was being operated by a private owner in accordance with Australian civil aviation regulations. The impact resulted in two fatalities and one serious injury.
