What happened
On August 17, 2011, at approximately 1930 UTC, a Cessna 152, registration HK2597G, crashed into terrain in Finca Arrayanes, Colombia. The aircraft, operated by Academia de Pilotos de Aviacion, had departed from Aeropuerto El Guaymaral (SKGY) in Chia, Colombia, roughly 20 minutes before the accident occurred.
At the time of the flight, visual meteorological conditions (VMC) were in effect. The collision resulted in 2 fatal injuries to the flight instructor and the student pilot. The aircraft was destroyed in the accident.
