Accident Details
During the landing rollout, the pilot applied the brakes. The airplane subsequently nosed over, coming to rest in an inverted position on the runway.
Damage
The fuselage, vertical stabilizer, and left wing struts sustained substantial damage.
Aircraft Configuration
According to a photograph provided to the investigator-in-charge, the airplane was not equipped with the manufacturer's optional landing gear extensions, which are designed to extend the main wheels forward.
Pilot Report
The pilot reported no preimpact mechanical malfunctions or failures with the airplane that would have precluded normal operation.
